AE Refresher Lab

First, download this image and this video file as assets you’ll use.

Then, create a short comp (approx. 15 – 20 seconds or so) in which we see the following demonstrated:

  • Animated properties using keyframes
  • Puppet Pin tool used to make the character walk or run
  • Some use of 3D layers, possibly even lights, camera animation
  • Masking (possibly to extract the character from its white background)
  • Nested Sub-Comps
  • Parenting
  • Use of the “Change to Color” effect

Render your comp as a Quicktime with codec Apple ProRes 422.

Compress your exported Quicktime using HandBrake as per these instructions.

Upload your compressed video to YouTube and send me the link via my UWM email address (my-last-name @ uwm . edu).
