Face Tracking Homework
[ Lecture Notes ] [ Lab ] [ Homework ]
Due October 24th.
The main point of this homework assignment is to find unique, creative ways to use the Face Tracker.
Requirements:
- Face Tracking — Pick at least 3 faces to work with. Maybe one of the faces could be a clip from a well known movie. Or from your own footage. Or something random you find online. Try to use high resolution footage.
- For one of the faces, do something simple like the Clown Nose example, BUT use something different than the Nose Tip
- For one of the faces, try using Adjustment Layers to change the color of someone’s eyes. You’ll probably need to do each eye separately, unless you do a pirate. (Hint: For each eye, add an adjustment layer to the comp, add masks to the adjustment layer so that it only affects the colored part of the eye, add a color correction effect to the adjustment layer to change the eye color, and then link the position of the adjustment layer to the position of the pupil.)
- For one of the faces, do something unique and creative that takes the angle of the face into account. You’ll maybe want to create an Angle Control to calculate the face angle using two points on the face.
- Bonus: For the adventurous, try the Stabilize / Distort / Un-Stabilize technique to add some Liquify effect to the face. You’ll have to set up a few nested sub-comps to make it all work. Remember to make the timelines of both comps visible when doing the “un-stabilize” step at the end.
