exercise no. 5

exercise no. 5

Due May 1st at the beginning of class.

Using the footage from the green screen shoot, I would like you to get some practice using the Keylight and Refine Hard Matte effects.

Requirements

  • In Premiere, isolate at least three, fairly different clips from the pool of raw green screen footage and export them for use in After Effects. For example, a wide, medium, and closeup shot.
  • Use the Keylight and Refine Hard Matte effects to remove the green background from the isolated clips. Render these out as separate clips (making sure to select RGB+Alpha in the Render Queue’s Output Module) that can be re-imported back into After Effects.
  • Using the imported, rendered clips, add some simple background and foreground layers to the keyed-out clips. You can use anything you want: random photos, old footage, stock video, famous movies, etc.
  • Animate some of the properties of the keyed-out footage, such as scale, rotation, and position
  • Try to use color correction effects (Hue/Saturation, Levels, Lumetri, etc.) on the individual layers to make the layers match each other somewhat.
  • At least 720p, 1 minute long
